Around 175,000 martyrs remain unaccounted for, while more than 300,000 graves have yet to be identified, leaving many families still searching for answers. At Tây Trang Border Gate in Điện Biên Province, the remains of Vietnamese martyrs and military experts who sacrificed their lives in Laos have returned home after more than half a century.

Buried around one metre underground in an acacia forest in Trai Ca Hamlet, Đakrong Commune, Quang Tri Province, two small pieces of leather bearing the names "Nguyễn Minh Thuận" and "Trịnh Ngọc Tạc", together with the inscription "3/3", provided crucial clues. The evidence enabled authorities to verify the identities of two fallen soldiers and bring them home after more than 50 years.

EU fines Google €890m

On 23 July, the European Commission fined Google a total of 890 million euros for two violations of the European Union's Digital Markets Act. The violations relate to how Google displays its services in search results and how it restricts app developers on the Google Play Store.
