Buried around one metre underground in an acacia forest in Trai Ca Hamlet, Đakrong Commune, Quang Tri Province, two small pieces of leather bearing the names "Nguyễn Minh Thuận" and "Trịnh Ngọc Tạc", together with the inscription "3/3", provided crucial clues. The evidence enabled authorities to verify the identities of two fallen soldiers and bring them home after more than 50 years.
