During the 21 April plenary session on socio-economic issues, National Assembly deputies discussed the progress of national gender equality goals. While acknowledging achievements, they identified systemic challenges and proposed solutions to promote true gender equality. Moving forward, gender equality should be viewed as both a social goal and as a key indicator of development, quality, and fairness in policy.
During the first session of the 16th National Assembly, the draft Resolution on piloting a Public Lawyer system attracted attention. The pilot will be implemented in 8 ministries, along with 10 cities and provinces such as Hà Nội, Hồ Chí Minh City, Đà Nẵng, and Hải Phòng. The pilot period will run from 1 October, 2026, to 30 September, 2028.

During the first session of the 16th National Assembly, deputies on Wednesday morning debated draft resolutions on breakthrough mechanisms for Việt Nam’s cultural development and the establishment of Đồng Nai as a centrally governed city. President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung and his spouse are on a State visit to Việt Nam from April 21 to 24, at the invitation of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and his spouse. The visit is expected to help shape a long-term framework for bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
