First Vietnam hepatitis D screening launched

For the first time in Vietnam, an international standard screening study for hepatitis D has been officially carried out, assessing the risk of co-infection in patients with hepatitis B. The hepatitis D virus is a key factor that accelerates progression to cirrhosis and liver cancer at a rate three times faster than in patients infected with hepatitis B alone.
