Ngũ Hiệp Islet in Đồng Tháp Province, known as the durian capital of the Mekong Delta, has long been famous for its high-value orchards, which provide the main source of income for many local households. However, during the peak of the dry season, when water becomes scarce and unpredictable, durian growers here face not only extreme heat but also the constant threat of salinity intrusion.
