After days of historic flooding, Hue City is beginning to recover. As the water starts to recede, residents are working hard to clean their homes and shops in the hopes of returning to normal life soon. The region of Central Vietnam is experiencing historic flood levels, with rivers in Hue and Da Nang rising rapidly, surpassing not only the records set in 2020, but even those of the catastrophic 1964 flood. Large areas remain heavily inundated, causing extensive damage and widespread disruption.
